Role: Field Photographer & Visual Storyteller
Project Overview: Portals collects old doors and windows from small towns and forgotten buildings: the faces of places that outlived the people who used them. I bring you to the threshold. What’s on the other side is for you to find out.
Key Highlights & Narrative Themes:
Time & Weathering: Paint gives up one layer at a time. Hinges settle where they last stopped. Glass goes cloudy, then crooked, then gone. Nobody decorates these places anymore, so time took over the job.
Presence in Absence: The people are long gone, but they left fingerprints: a handle worn smooth, a curtain still hanging, a house number nobody bothered to take down.
Light & Contrast: Windows were made to let light in. Now it slips through broken panes and around sagging frames, and inside and outside start to trade places.
Compositional Framing: A door or window is already a frame, so I treat each one like a portrait.
