About Me

take a story from first clue to finished page. Hand me a subject and I’ll research it, write it, shoot it, and design it, then hand it back done. No relay team required.

Writing. Long-form features, history pieces, advocacy articles, newsletters, and the kind of copy that gets people to show up, sign up, or give. I write plainly, with some affection for the people involved.

Photography. Small-town oddities, abandoned places, and the fairs, festivals, and crowds where people gather. Strangers are the main characters.

Design. Brochures, flyers, slide decks, invitations, and email. I take out more than I put in, so what’s left reads without effort.

I’m based in the Texas Hill Country, about an hour outside Austin, and available for freelance, remote, and consulting work.

If you’ve got a story sitting where nobody thought to look, let’s talk.

Field Notes

Last place I pulled over for: Tehuacana, Texas. A random side street on a family road trip led us to Texas Hall at Old Trinity University. Look it up. It’s an excellent rabbit hole.

Best thing I’ve found: A cast iron Young America coin bank, made in Philadelphia in the late 1800s. Five dollars at a Goodwill in Temple, Texas. It’s held up better than most banks.

Currently reading: Scarlet Shores by Alexander Green for business, and Contemporary Poetry, edited by Marguerite Wilkinson, for pleasure. Just kidding, they're both for pleasure.

A dog I’ll never forget: Tank. A giant cloud of white fur with a gray patch over one blue eye. A true bro, and family to my sons. Like every dog, he didn’t live long enough. I think about him every day.
